Subj:   Info on DataStage EE For Teradata

From:   Shindhe, Naveen

Hi,

I am looking for info based on direct experience in using DataStage EE with Teradata.

Please note that when you see the term Teradata Connector Stage this refers to IBM Asential Data Stage component software.

Questions for Teradata Connector Stage.

1) When using TD Connector Stage with Immediate Option, does it use any TD load utility?

2) Since TD Connector stage with Immediate option does not use any TD utilities, most of the ETL jobs are getting failed with error. RDBMS code 507: CLI2: BADLOGMECH(507): Requested logon mechanism is not available.

Can you please tell us, why we are getting the above error, since we are not using Fastload, Multiload, Tpump stages in Datastage.

3) As per TD knowledge base, Probable Cause or the above error: is Insufficient sessions available on the DBS for the FastLoad or MultiLoad job to connect all sessions. The database returns error 8024, but CLI erroneously returns the 507 error, instead of 8024. This problem is recorded in DR 123602. Note that once the DR is fixed in TTU 13, the problem can still occur because of the way FLoad and MLoad calculate the number of sessions to connect; the DR merely corrects the error message which is returned.

4) TD Connector stage with Bulk option uses Fastload, Multiload, Tpump.

We haven't done any benchmarking as of yet but I thought I could borrow from others past experiences.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank You
