Just to see what is happening, can you run the quarry directly with the same case statement and see if the JI is being picked or not.

Also don't forget to the collect stat on the index of the JI first before you do that.

If I remember right as long the JI DDL is covered in that quarry it should work unless you are doing some thing else with that view.
