Like already mentioned you will need to use FastExport for extracting large volume of data.

However question to you is why are you doing this from Dot.net? If this is not a requirement or mandatory to use then simple create a shell script in Unix or a DOS script in Windows and invoke the FastExport to extract data. You can still use dot net to invoke the same script that will use FastExport behind the scene.

Also keep in mind dot net will also gets you ability to talk to Teradata driver as well. So that all depends what you need.
