Why avoid the real fun. Do some conversions to TD from SQL Server, Oracle, IMS, or IDMS, all of which run with surrogate keys. At least the
SS ETL tools contain auto SK generating functions. Of course when any of those DBMS keys do a wholesale change, such as when downloading a new
data store, your ETL has to be all re-run to match up on the new suite of keys. This is not a solution email, but a facetious comment on the fun
and joy of working with SK's.
