You can map directory users to Teradata users, external roles, and profiles. Then they can log on to TD with their directory usernames, using
the LDAP mechanism and logon conventions. The directory users can then exercise all privileges granted to the users/extroles/profiles to which
they are mapped.
This is all documented in the Security Administration manual, in the chapter on Directory Management of Database Users.
