Subj:   Re: Determine Lock in a Table

From:   Jha, Ayush

Thanks everyone .

I had to cancel the query. I first released the lock on the target table but it did not fail the proc , I am not sure why. Then I stopped the stored proc. Then re-ran it in splitted manner.

For whole time I was monitoring it (approx 4 hours), the target table did not have any data (I had to use Access lock as a simple select count(*) would not return anything) .

Looks like the query was stuck, may be not getting spool space. What is the best way to determine if the query was using maximum spool space available?

How do I determine if the query is stuck or doing something?

Thanks

Ayush
