Subj:   Mainframe DB2 preprocessor to Teradata

From:   Bob Hahn

I'm posting this on behalf of a customer.

They have embedded DB2 preprocessor embedded SQL w/Cobol programs that they plan to port to Teradata via Preprocessor2. He would like to hear from someone who has done this, specifically:

1. What pitfalls/challenges did you experience? (I told him in general there can be SQL syntax differences but the preprocessor directives are consistent. )

2. How much mainframe cpu offload was achieved? (They know their current usage for DB2 and Cobol from the mainframe accounting. I would expect the COBOL/CLI should be similar, our TDP adds a bit, and all the DB2 processing should be offloaded).

If you can help him out please post here and he'll see it.
