You can do this through a UDF (table udf?)... Version 6.something I think (..they changed something to allow external calls via the code). Check the manuals under udf's.

Remember though, this is not the same as joining a table to a table in teradata... this would be link a federated system join, and so any appreciable volume would kill performance.
