From:   Watry, Mike

Srini,

We have also had many problems using fastexport with Informatica. A few of the common problems that I find are:

Table Definitions are not the same between Informatica and the actual table. The Pipe that is opened by Informatica is based on the table definition in Informatica while the data will be returned by Teradata in the actual table definition format. For example, if your source table is defined as a smallint and Informatica has it defined as an integer it will fail.

Timestamps - You may want to converted these to a char. I have not gotten timestamps to go through natively. Informatica documentation says to change the Fractional Seconds Precision setting but I have not had any success.

SQL Override - Make sure to cast any overrides with the format needed. Otherwise the data may not fit the Pipe.

When none of the following work I just start by trying a couple columns and keep added more until it fails. Find the column that is causing the error and you are more likely able to correct the problem.

Thanks,

Mike
