Hi Mark,
We implemented TDWM at a large client in the North East and what was critical is that you have someone who has experience configuring it
properly and setting it up based upon your production needs. It was a godsend for us because without it large CRM DSS queries were hammering the
system and hogging system resources. We had Steve(Woody) Woodrow. He came in for a week and configured TDWM and turned what was a system that was
constantly hitting a Amp worker task resource ceiling to one with finely tuned workload groups with throttles and filters. TDWM is a product that
sets Teradata apart no other database vendor offers the robustness of TDWM. That said I would not recommend trying to set it up from the manuals
because poorly configured workloads can be useless. The best bet is to get help and then have someone in your organization shadow him.
