<-- Anonymously Posted: Fri, 18 Apr 2008 10:17 --> When a FASTExport is run against a table with a char(30) address attribute, the (presumed) spaces at the end of the field are not written to the field in the FastEx-output file. I have been assured that the file used to load this data had a fixed length format with spaces padding each field to reach a common length of 30. When the postion function is used to identify the first occurrence of consecutive spaces (2 of em), a value of zero is returned, suggesting that the position function is not recognizing consecutive spaces. Any thoughts how to force the FastEx to build the field in the out-file with the padded spaces at the end. (Currently, the field in the out-file has a VARCHAR quality to it, no spaces at the end.) Please dock my account for a virtual cold one this Friday afternoon. Thanks
