I am reading an article on Rick Glick's departure from Teradata.

The article describes him as a CTO responsible "for product direction and vision", which sounds like a pretty important CTO. He spent 17 years with the company.

I must admit I do not follow all personalities behind Teradata. It is kind of hard to do as not much information is easily available and you cannot follow everybody if you are sitting in the different part of the world.

I would be interested to hear opinions of those who know Rick. What was his contribution exactly and what kind of impact his departure can have?
