Hello. I have a column defined as DECIMAL(5,2). I store and export values like -999.99 or 999.99 and they always fit in 3 bytes as expected: (5+1)/2 = 3 bytes.

My question is: why the HELP TABLE command shows Max Length as 4? Is there a chance that at any time the exported data use 4 bytes?
