Subj:   Re: Validating Effectiveness of TDWM Query

From:   Diehl, Robert

Linda,

Please explain more. My guess is you are seeing the following scenario.

You have two workloads High and Medium. High has a threshold that moves it to Medium after x cpu time. High has a query limit of 10 and Medium has a query limit of 5. When a query is already running it will not 'honor' the query limits when it moves. Therefore, if you have 5 running in Medium and one Running in high that gets moved to medium. You will have 6 running in Medium after it moves. This is above the limit for Medium.

Another way to think of it is only new queries 'honor' the query limit.

Thanks,

Bob Diehl
