I am in a process of evaluating both options for implementing massive exports. The main evaluation criterion is the amount of data passed over the wire per call. The documentation states: "Exporting an entire buffer full of rows using the GetBuffer function rather than one row at a time using the GetRow function improves performance by reducing the amount of data movement required. " The term "data movement" is rather vague in this regard. Does 'GetRow' mean an 'over-the-wire' call to fetch each and every individual row? Or - can one assume that both GetRow and GeBuffer API-s share identical 'Batch' fetch mechanism but differ from each other by the way they 'pack' and expose data contents to the API consumer? Regards. Hillel.
