Craig,

Sounds like a network problem. The client the user was on fell off the network. Or if they were going thru a firewall the firewall dropped them. Many firewalls drop connection after x amount of time. You can also look at dbc.software_event_log to see if someone aborted their session. Look for their id and other strings like below in column Text

     3265: Transaction has been Aborted by Administrator or Operations Staff.
        User(s) logged off   By user:  DBCMANAGER
