Hi,

I have a requirement where i have to find the previous adv_num that was been used.

     ITEM_NUM     ADVC_NUM     ITEM_ADVC_EFF_DT

     1111            12345     2007/08/29

     1111            23456     2007/08/29

In the above table, i need to get the advc_num=23456.How do i get? Cud anyone help me out in solving this issue.I tried using rank function,but i cud nt get it.
