We were experiencing this problem on one of our AIX Unix servers and not another and it turned out to be an AIX bug (the patch had not been
applied to all servers.) We also had what appeared to be time out errors during long ARCmain jobs and that's how we finally solved this one.
Check your OS versions since it sounds like you recently switched servers. Bob Shapiro of the GSC Client group was able to help us solve it.
