I am trying to do an insert/select into an empty table from a table with 177,235,617 rows. Both tables are identical except the target table has some of the fields defined as varchar instead of char. The primary index is the same (NUPI). If it makes a difference, both tables are partitioned by date. There are no secondary indices. I read a post on the forum where someone mentioned that having statistics collected on the source table made a difference, so I made sure that statistics were collected. I?m sure this must not be an uncommon thing. Any suggestions as to how to load this data into a new table would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Craig Sr. Database Administrator
