hi, We need to export flat files from 600 tables and generate one index file which contain each file's name, size and record number. It's obvious that the fastest way to get the record number is extracting from the fastexport log. The example is as following( record number is 6 ): **** 16:16:28 UTY2414 BRIEF option is enabled. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - FastExport Utility Release FEXP.07.06.03.000 - - Platform IBM-AIX - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - Copyright 1990-2003, NCR Corporation. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- - FastExport Task Complete - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- **** 16:16:33 UTY8722 6 total records written to output file. We found 99% of fastexport logs give the right record numbers, however, 1% of them always display error results. The difference is about 1~ 250, such as: Table1 log's recordnum is 79177, but the output file recordnum is 79178 Table2 log's recordnum is 5130157, but the output file recordnum is 5130164 Table3 log's recordnum is 1343333, but the output file recordnum is 1343552 Table4 log's recordnum is 8934268, but the output file recordnum is 8934288 Table5 log's recordnum is 26666, but the output file recordnum is 26667 Table6 log's recordnum is 24830, but the output file recordnum is 24831 Fastexport Version is 07.06.03.00 on AIX. Can anyone provide some hint where the difference coming from? Thanks, Feng
