Few things that I noticed... (a) [This is not an error] By default 07/11/01 becomes '1907-11-01' not 2007-11-01 (just an FYI, manipulated by dbscontrol field century break) (b) If you have spaces in source column, you will get that error .. Use nullif. (c) And if you have invalid dates (like '07/02/31'), you would still get an error So depending on (b)/(c) or both ... You've gotta work out your strategy Regards Joseph D'silva
