This option is not right. If you lock Table for "Access" the table is available for insert/update operation by other users. This is used when data integrity/consistency is not of much importance while you need read on data. What is actually needed is to put "read" lock on the Base Table. If the base table is directly referenced, i.e without any view, then by default "Read" lock is put on the table. But if you are going to access the table via a view, then make sure that the view definition includes : Locking For Read Regards, Rajesh
