Teradata load utility such as multiload take advantage of multiple sessions to speed up the work. You should consider setting min and max anywhere between 4 and 16 sessions.

Also, you might consider using multiset table with unique primary index to ensure no duplicate records, but allow for no heavy system level duplication check by set table.

You should get yourself familiar with the MULTILOAD reference manual in order to take advantage of the tool. There are several examples and suggestions in that document.

For your type of work, you might consider TERADATA PARALLEL TRANSPORTER (TPT) which uses the utility componenets like fastload, multiload, fastexport and allow for multiple stream to be used in the situation you are in. You can load all 10 files at the same time assuming they are available all at the same time. Talk with your account manager if you are not already familiar with TPT.
