Subj:   Re: Way to Copy Statistics.

From:   Barner Eric

I saw that post, that is similar to what I am already doing. It is generating SQL to collect statistics on tables. (in a different database).

I will use it though as it is a more elegant and concise version of what I was already doing.

Much thanks to you and Dieter though!

I want to generate or "copy" the physical statistics. Not collect them.

However I am not sure if that is possible.

I want to circumvent populating tables and collecting stats, then truncating them as a means to keep stats on an empty table.

I simply would want to copy table with the statistics, WITHOUT data (but with stats staying the same as the original populated table).

I want to know if you can generate the stats (copied from the original table ) and impose them on an empty table.

Thanks,

Eric Barner
