Thanks for your reply.

But the problem here is that these are production tables. And being DBA, it is difficult to change the domain level constraints including data type that are business driven.

We have developed a MVC utility in house and it is crapping out.

The reason for the abend is attributed to multiple source rows found for target table update. Upon investigation I found that this particular field had two entries and for some reason TRIM seems to have not worked.

The irony is that I have to manually delete such columns from being included for compression.

I got some interesting suggestion on master forum which I plan to use.
