All, I have a question on TRIM function. I have a production table and a chararacter data type defined as CHAR(9). There are several white spaces values in this column. Some of them are 2,5 and some of them are 9 (like ' ', ' ' and ''). When I tried using TRIM function and grouping on this column, I find 3 entries for white spaces. I was under impression that TRIM(FROM BOTH Col) will result in an empty string (''). Do you happen to know why this is happening? I am sure I am missing some thing here. I tried using various editors to see if the values have speacial characters but in vain. Please let me know. Thanks, Vinay
