My belief in DB2 connectivity, especially in the early days of Teradata, might have been supported by a theory that Teradata pioneers were inspired by the IBM standards of that time. What else, if anything, would inspire them? But this is just a speculation.

It would be great to hear from the real pioneers on the Forum about the early days and how the story started.

I wonder if we're confusing this with TS/API, which allows access to Teradata from DB2 applications, mapping the DB2 SQL calls to Teradata SQL calls automagically.

I do not remember any tools that allowed Teradata client access to DB2 other than the standard ODBC type interfaces.
