Obviously I can't comment on what you have read, and you may well have read that. However, that does not necessarily make it true. After all, I
just read what you wrote and yet that does not change the fact that bteq still uses CLI to connect to the database :-) . Nor does it change the
fact that CLI is teradata specific.
Please note, my "toungue in cheek" response is not intended to be offensive.
On the other hand, bteq is available on the IBM mainframe platforms, perhaps this is what you have read. There is another tool called ITEQ -
which is the mainframe equivalent of queryman. And I use the term equivalent loosely. From my limited experience, it is like comparing "edlin" to
word (well maybe wordpad :-) ).
