You can specify NO LOG for GLOBAL TEMPORARY or VOLATILE tables but not for "permanent" ones. Under some circumstances (like INSERT/SELECT into
an empty table) Teradata may automatically detect that there is no reason to do logging of every row change. And the FastLoad or MultiLoad
utilities bypass normal (transient journal) logging and are commonly used for loading large files.
