The closest thing to an incremental back-up in Teradata, is if you use journaling on the tables you wish to back-up. You take a full (non-
incremental) backup of the table, say once-a-week. Between full backup you can take a daily backup (incremental) on the Journal table (then
purge). You set up the daily backup of the journal tables in Veritas the same as any other set of tables in Teradata.
To restore such a table, your restore from you last full backup, then restore each of the daily journal tables (one at a time) and roll forward
for each day you need to get back to a "good" copy of the table. If your full backup is weekly, the most days to roll-forward would be six.
