Teradata doesn't use the host OS filesystem (except in the demo version), it has its own proprietary hashed filesystem structure. The OS sees the space assigned to Teradata as "raw devices" (UNIX) or "unformatted partitions" (Windows).

There are many options for adding more space to an existing system but assuming you want to preserve the existing data it's a non-trivial process. I would strongly suggest you contact your Teradata support representative for assistance.
