Subj: | | Rollback at Teradata |

Experts,
I have a 2 million records load insert statement started by SQL Assistant that ran for 9 minutes and now is rollingback for 3 days with High
priority. The target table has 100 million records. I'm using Ttools release 7.0. I did not collect recent statistics on my primary index and join
columns. I did not delete any secondary indices before run it.
I know that rollbacks usually take a minimum of 1.5 to 2 times longer then the time it took for the job to run prior to rollback starting, and
occasionally they can take much longer, like 200 to 300 times as long as the original job such as delete statement running in ANSI mode that do
not have a commit statement immediately following the delete statement. But my situation is an Insert statement that ran 9 minutes and its
rolling back for 3 days.
What can you say about rollback process at Teradata? Is there any ways to speed it up? Any best practicies?
Thanks in advance
