I suggest just using the 8 or 10 bytes per row thumbrule. I did some fairly extensive testing a few years back and all the NUSI's fell in the range of 8.1 to 8.5 bytes per row. For a gross ranking a 10% error probably isn't worth worrying about.

If youre looking at space & performance, I recommend comparing the table access counts to the nusi access counts from the DBC tables. If the table isn't accessed very often, or if the nusi is infrequently used (relative to table access) you can drop it with little performance impact. The question isn't so much how big are the nusi's, it's how cost effective are they.
