Probably I am rephrasing what others already said, fastload definitely is faster than multiload, but that's not the sole criteria of making a choice of utility. there are various factors. You may have to ask yourself questions like Are new rows going to get inserted into this table going forward ? Am I going to drop and recreate the table everytime I get data ? ( Is this table used only for staging ?) Is there a probability of NUSIs getting added in future ? Is the x% time diff performance so critical that I have to make a fastload script for inital load and make multiload scripts for subsequent uses ? (more dev/test time) And the list could go on .... probably that's why Victor suggested hiring me :)) ( I am just kidding !, and then again I know the pain of convincing the Bosses to get a teradata consultant, I started learning myself after that effort failed .... Good for me .... now I am almost near that elite list :))) Good luck Joseph Vinish D'silva
