I am afraid I would have to throw my lot somewhere in the middle... While I agree with much that has been said on he subject at hand in regards
to why updating stats should generally not be necessary after a TD node expansion effort, I too have prior experience with an unusual performance
issue or two cropping up after such an event where we did not initially rebuild stats afterwards that were "cured" by doing just that.
After that, we've always more or less had that type of effort as a part of the project plan for any hardware upgrade without question for some
time right or wrong.
