Subj:   Re: ODBC Queries repeated

From:   JANIK, ROBERT

The volume that we are dealing with here is never less than 1,000 and up to 250,000 repeat Inserts. Almost always the submitting clients are PC experience bound (no MVS or UNIX knowledge). So, either a very large client training effort must be undertaken (which is prohibitive in our situation) or a solution, transparent to the client users, must be found (or developed).

A transparent solution would allow the client users to continue practicing their activities without learning to jump new hurdles. At the same time, it would eliminate the impact of these repeat queries on the system's performance. One Insert or Select statement for however many rows the client users desire (through ODBC). That all I want!!!

Thanks,

Bob J.
