We have an issue with ODBC driven software and Teradata. Users accessing Teradata via the Sql Assistant "import" feature or MS Access can easily create "repeated" queries. For example; if an MS Access user does a Select using an MS Access table and a linked Teradata table, one Select statement is generated for each row in the MS Access table. In other words if the MS Access table has ten thousand rows, ten thousand Select statements are submitted to the Teradata system The same occurs with the Sql Assistant Import feature. If a user Inserts ten thousand records from a sequential, PC based file, ten thousand Insert statements are submitted into the Teradata system. It is my understanding that these queries are "repeated" due to the nature of the Teradata ODBC driver. My question is; has anyone found a way to either a go-around or correct this situation? Thanks, Bob J.
