Not to excuse Ascential (since we also have had our issues with this product from time to time), it is worth noting that NCR was something of a late adopter of the profile/role way of administering access rights so in that respect it has not been a surprise to us that some 3rd party software when interfaced to Teradata, still does not accommodate this as well as one might like. This in fact is one of the reasons we have not yet discarded the old tricks of administering access rights in teradata and for the time being, use both.
