Subj:   Ascential Datastage and dbc.userrights

Has anyone encountered any issues with the Datastage ETL tool attempting to verify user permissions in Teradata?

The issue we are having is that we granted all the necessary permissions in Teradata, to the users via Roles. Unfortunately, the Datastage tool is attempting to read the dbc.userrights view and is looking to see if the user has Insert on the specific database.tablename that they are attempting to insert into. It does not find that privilege there and fails the request, since all of our privileges are granted at the database level and through a Role.

I think it's a bug in Datastage or maybe there is a way to disable this verification step and allow Teradata to manage the security. I have an incident open with IBM but I wanted to see if there were any other Teradata customers that had overcome this issue and how.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
