Subj:   TCP_BUF_SIZE Setting for 1Gb Pipe

From:   Anomy Anom

The COPANOMLOG has an entry that says the "TCP_BUF_SIZE is set to default : 1048576".

Is there any advantage in bumping the buffer size up while using utilities on a 1Gb ethernet connection to our PDE?

We do have NIC's in place that can handle 1Gb.

We also performed a FTP test from out ETL box to one of the nodes with a NIC card and it looks like the pipe is capable however overall throughput is disappointing???

Interested in finding out if we should consider bumping up the TCP_BUF_SIZE?

Thanks.
