When you run Teradata Manager (or PMON) you can use one of 2 modes.
Direct connection - In this case each user must have the appropriate Monitor rights (Note that 'MONITOR' would give you all the monitor rights
so you may not want to do that. The Ref manual lists the rights - or you can use Teradata Administrator and just check the required boxes.)
Client/Server mode - In this case the TMgr user does not require monitor rights to run the applications. The UserId that is being used by the
Teradata Manager Service needs the rights, but the end users (clients) only need rights defined within the Teradata Manager system. (Profiles)
(These clients do need select rights on tables within the 'dbcmngr' database however.)
