Thanks for the information. I'm not sure I'm any further ahead yet, however.
As for statistics: the tables, rows, simultaneous workload(none), and statistics are identical in the case of both queries. I've tried
collecting, dropping and recollecting, etc - I've not been able to make a difference... We're on V2R5.1.2, so hopefully the redistribution bug
isn't applicable. Could there be anything about a connection type, or a sessionmode that could cause a difference in an execution plan? Silly,
as it sounds, I'm really hitting a wall with what could possibly be different between the two access methods that would cause a differing
execution.
