Well, yes, in our case because the schema is just used to obtain a "production" EXPLAIN.

I suppose you could populate some data there and use it as a "real" test environment, but with production stats and non-production quantities and a non-production configuration, even if you set DIAGNOSTICS COSTS to prod/test - I would think you would experience some strange things (but it would probably "work").
