Hi Alistair,
If you are a NCR customer for Teradata, you must be having access to NCR's Knowledge Base (through Teradata@YourService login) where you get
good hints on regular maintenance activities.
As I can remember there is a Knowledge Article with the name of "Teradata Best Practices" which links to multiple other important articles.
