I agree with Matthew, but I would point out that you should really just need one wrapper script that can execute each type of load script. You just pass the script and type to the wrapper. This eliminates many versions of the same wrapper with just a different file in it. One wrapper for each bteq/fastload/multiload can be a maintenance nightmare when you want to add more functionality to the wrapper. IE change 300 wrappers instead of 1. Here are some things I suggest the wrapper script should accomplish 1) Alerting of failed jobs. This can also be done else where. 2) log start/end time, cpu, i/o, row counts 3) return success/fail status 4) execute scripts. I personally don't think the wrapper should perform any job control/scheduling. That is better left to other tools/shells. Thanks, Bob Diehl
