You can modify the space of the user that needs extra space if you have permission to take the space from its parent (and the space is available). You can also modify one of its children to reduce the space owned by the child. (Anyt released space flows up to the parent) Or you can create a temporary database within an unrelated database - giving it the required space. Then give that database to the one that needs the space. And finally drop the temp database - causing its space to flow up to its 'new' parent. The 'Tools, Move Space' dialog of Teradata Administrator can do any of these for you. (As can the 'Space' application in Teradata Manager.) Rather than the 'Database Information' report you need to look at the 'Child Space' report for that database's parent. This shows the Current, Peak, and Max Permspace for each database/user under the selected database. If current (or Peak) gets close to Max it may be time to give it more space. Also note that if there is a large skewed table in the database you will run out of space even if there appears to be plenty available. This is due to the fact that running out of space on any one AMP causes the database to effectively run out of space. (The skew factor is shown on the 'Table Space' report for a database.)
