Thanks Victor for your insight on the vendor reasons for pushing SQL into the database. Sounds like the same reasons to use macros. It must be a parallel universe!!! :0

I think so. There is another product parallel I can spot: Oracle external procedures and Teradata user defined functions. Both are not / will not be accepted by the market.
