Sorry I don't have time to expand this further. This is a very bad situation to be in from the performance aspect. The overhead of min cylinder packs can drastically reduce the thru put of other users. If you get Mini Cylinder packs it may mean you are out of space as Victor stated. It also may mean the data is 'packed to tightly' (no free space). Running a PACKDISK from FERRET is the a course of action in this case. You probably also should run SHOWFSP first to see what it expects to free up. I believe if PACKDISK numbers don't come close to SHOWFSP expectations then a DEFRAG is needed. I bet you can find threads on this somewhere. I also suggest you don't run any of these without understanding what they do. An easy way to find out how many free cylinders you have. From Teradata Manager run Investigate...Space Usage...Cylinders by Vproc Look at the column 'Free % of Total' If this is under 10% you should take some kind of action probably PACKDISK.
