THANK YOU - that is what I wanted to know!

As one who doesn't really have a solid understanding of the architecture of running ARCMAIN on MVS, just a slight rephrasing provided the necessary clarification. So I'm basically just writing to a file. Teradata may be writing to several ESCON adapters, if my terminology is accurate, and these are what show up in Resusage. But, between the mainframe and the VTS it sounds like just a single ESCON connection.

It would sure be great if we had FICON to fast tape drives on every node, based on the other replies, but we're not there yet.. so MVS and ESCON is what we have to deal with right now. Ka-chunk, ka-chunk.
