There is inconsistency in the said error.

With or without group by result is same, since all columns are grouped and no duplicates are there in table, but sometimes during peak hours, without group it gives spool space error, where the query fetches more than 30 million records with in 40 minutes.

But if group by used, query works consistently.

I would like to know whether any other space is used.
